Today’s post is going to be a mix of three
aspects. Firstly, I would like to give you some resources about how futsal can
develop a football player. The second one will be an interesting piece of news
about a specific match. And finally, I will show you a new futsal magazine that
has just been launched in England, for which I have written a guest column.
After this short introduction, let’s start
with the first topic: Can futsal be a means to develop football players? In February,
I read an article in a Spanish newspaper about how Pep Guardiola uses futsal
skills to train at F.C Barcelona (click here to read the article translated
into English by Google Translator). The article was based on several videos done
by professional futsal coach Miguel Rodrigo. Currently, Miguel Rodrigo is the
Japan Futsal National Team Head Coach and he has created a series of videos
comparing futsal and football matches. Here you can see all the videos:
Secondly, I would just
like to let you know that on the 27th May F.C. Barcelona will play a
futsal game to collect funds for the Maratón de la Pobreza (Marathon for
Poverty). The teams will be coached by Pep Guardiola and future F.C Barcelona
manager Tito Vilanaova. It is a very interesting game to watch.
In addition, this week a new futsal
magazine – Futsal World Magazine: Inside the world of futsal... – has been
launched in England. I have written a guest column about very basic specific
futsal fitness for the first issue. Click here if you would like to read the
piece.
